audience to officials of the Cameroonian Society of Geosciences (SCG)
The Minister of Mines, Industry and Technological Development (ai), Prof. FUH CALISTUS GENTRY, on 4 March granted an audience to officials of the Cameroonian Society of Geosciences (SCG), a learned society preparing to host the 4th edition of its Geosciences Conference at the University of Bertoua from 25 to 27 March under the theme, “Let us build together a sustainable blue economy.”
The delegation, led by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bertoua and represented by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor in charge of Internal Control and Evaluation, Prof. AKONO ONGBA, presented the objectives and expected outcomes of the event. The conference is expected to bring together experts, policymakers, researchers, and industry professionals to promote and enhance geosciences while strengthening collaboration with socio-economic stakeholders.
During discussions, the Minister commended the initiative and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting the learned society in implementing the Government’s mining policy and promoting responsible and sustainable resource management.
The audience concluded in an atmosphere of satisfaction, with all parties expressing confidence in the success of the forthcoming conference.
