Cooperation: China’s New Ambassador to Cameroon Pays Courtesy Visit to MINMIDT
H.E. Mr. Xu Yong, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Cameroon, was received in audience on Friday, 31 October 2025, by Prof. Fuh Calistus Gentry, Minister of Mines, Industry, and Technological Development(ai).

The discussions between the two dignitaries focused, among other topics, on strengthening sustainable and green development in the mineral resources sector worldwide in general, and specifically between the two countries.

They also explored prospects for enhancing cooperation between Yaoundé and Beijing. In this context, the Ambassador took the opportunity to invite the head of the ministerial department to participate in a new economic and trade cooperation initiative on green mining and minerals. The initiative was welcomed by the Minister, who highlighted its aim to promote the responsible exploitation of Cameroon’s resources.

It should be recalled that H.E. Xu Yong, the new Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Cameroon, had presented a copy of his credentials to the Minister of External Relations on 5 August 2025.
