Presentation of New Year Wishes to The Minister of Mines, Industry and Technological Development

The Ministry of Mines, Industry and Technological Development (MINMIDT) on Wednesday, 28 January 2026, held its traditional New Year’s wishes ceremony in honour of the Minister, Professor Fuh Calistus Gentry, at the Grand Amphitheatre of the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM). The ceremony brought together officials and staff of the Ministry’s central and devolved services, as well as representatives of supervised structures and invited guests.

In his keynote address, Professor Fuh Calistus Gentry outlined the strategic orientations for the year 2026, with particular emphasis on the effective implementation of major mining and industrial projects. He indicated that several projects have reached their maturity phase, while others are set to officially commence in 2026. Ongoing mining projects currently in production, Sinosteel, Grand-Zambi, Minim-Martap, Bidzar, Colomine and Mborguene, were reviewed, alongside projects scheduled for launch this year, including Caminco and Camina. The Minister also highlighted the ongoing restructuring of the artisanal mining sector as a priority reform aimed at improving governance and productivity.

With regard to the industrial sector, the Minister announced plans for the creation of multiple value chains, estimated at approximately 30 per year, as well as measures to restructure and strengthen the national industrial fabric in line with the Government’s industrialisation policy.

Earlier in the ceremony, the Secretary General of MINMIDT presented the Ministry’s performance review for 2025, highlighting key achievements and the progress recorded during the past year. The event was also marked by the official installation of newly elected staff delegates, reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to social dialogue and participatory governance.

The ceremony was attended by several Directors General of supervised structures, executives of mining and industrial companies, and special guests. It concluded with a cocktail reception held in an atmosphere of satisfaction, optimism and renewed hope for the year 2026.
