Thursday, 25 June 2026, continued the second day of his working visit to Douala with a large-scale inspection operation aimed at strengthening industrial compliance and enforcing Cameroon’s regulatory framework.

The day’s activities formed part of the Government’s broader policy to reorganize and restructure the country’s industrial sector. The mission focused on ensuring compliance with industrial regulations, reinforcing product quality standards, enhancing industrial safety, and combating illegal manufacturing activities.

During the field inspections, nearly ten industrial establishments were visited. Following comprehensive assessments, seven facilities were sealed for operating illegally and for failing to comply with the legal and regulatory requirements governing industrial activities and product quality in Cameroon. A significant number of the establishments concerned were owned or operated by foreign companies, underscoring the Government’s commitment to enforcing the law fairly and without discrimination.

The Minister reiterated that the operation is intended to sanitize the national industrial landscape, safeguard consumer interests, promote fair competition, strengthen industrial safety, and improve Cameroon’s industrial competitiveness by ensuring that all operators comply with national laws and internationally accepted standards.

The ministerial delegation included the Governor of the Littoral Region, the Senior Divisional Officer for Wouri, the Inspector General, Directors and senior officials of the Ministry, as well as members of the Governor’s military staff and security detail.
