workshop to publicly present the report on the study concerning the integration of EITI data in Cameroon.

The Minister of Mines, Industry and Technological Development (ai), Professor Fuh Calistus Gentry, who also serves as Vice President of the Cameroon EITI Committee, on Thursday, December 11, in Yaoundé, chaired a workshop to publicly present the report on the study concerning the integration of EITI data in Cameroon.
The report, produced by the consulting firm ENERTEAM over the past six months, marks an important step toward strengthening the systematic disclosure of data within the framework of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI). Its presentation to the public marks progress in Cameroon’s efforts to enhance transparency in the management of extractive resources.
According to the findings, the document provides:
an overview of the current procedures for data collection and publication in Cameroon;
a comprehensive list of reporting entities already implementing systematic disclosure;
identified obstacles, limitations, and gaps hindering full systematic disclosure;
stakeholder perspectives on the advantages and challenges of integrating EITI data;
and a proposed roadmap outlining key actions and responsible parties for effective implementation.
Speaking during the event, Professor Fuh Calistus Gentry underscored that the initiative seeks to better inform Cameroonians about how the State manages the country’s natural resources and the benefits derived from their operation.
This workshop follows the recent publication of Cameroon’s 2023 EITI Report on 10 December, an achievement welcomed by all stakeholders involved in the transparency and governance of the extractive sector.
