Follow-up on the construction project of a tile production plant located in KAKE, Moungo Division, Littoral Region

On Friday, May 16, 2025, in the locality of KAKE in the Moungo Division, Littoral Region,
a team of inspectors from the Regional Delegation of MINMIDT for the Littoral carried out a
site visit to the construction project of a tile production plant.
The mission was led by Mr. NKANJO Bruno Arnaud, Head of the Regional Department of
Industry, Technological Development, and Industrial Property for the Littoral, accompanied
by Mr. AWANA ESSONO Franck, Staff Member, both sworn inspectors serving at the
Regional Delegation of the Littoral.
The visit was conducted in the presence of Mr. Innocent BEKAM, the site supervisor.
I. Progress of Construction Works:
During the guided tour, the team was able to assess the current stage of the work on site. The
following observations were made:
• Construction phase (civil works): Approximately 90% complete.
The concrete flooring and the installation of the metal framework designed to house
all the production equipment are fully completed. The production hall covers a
surface area of 6,000 square meters.
• Installation and wiring phase: Estimated at 70% completion at the time of the visit.
The machines/equipment and the corresponding electrical circuits are currently being
installed. On-site, the presence of external experts (from India) brought in by the
project promoter was noted to assist in setting up the plant.
In addition to the equipment already installed in the production hall, many containers
containing newly receptioned machinery awaiting installation were also present on
site.
II. Discussion with the Site Supervisor:
From the exchanges held with Mr. Innocent BEKAM, the site supervisor, the following key
points emerged:
1. The project, once completed, will cover a total area of 6 hectares (i.e., 60,000 square
meters);
2. 3. As of the date of the visit, the project is approximately 70% complete;
Installation and calibration of equipment are expected to be completed by September
2025;
4. Trial production runs are scheduled to begin between the end of September and the
beginning of October 2025;
5. No major challenges were reported.
Conclusion
The visit ended on a cordial note and allowed the inspection team to appreciate the scale of
the project rapidly taking shape in KAKE, Moungo Division, Littoral Region.
This project, which will rely on locally sourced materials, aims to produce 7,000 square
meters of tiles per day, on a total area of 6 hectares.
