Inauguration of a production unit of dairy products at the Nestlé factory in Douala

The Minister of Mines, Industry and Technological Development, Ernest GBWABOUBOU chaired yesterday Thursday, April 12, 2018, the inauguration of a new production unit of dairy products in Nestlé’s production plant in Douala.

This dairy production unit has an annual production capacity of more than 5,500 tons. The company has invested 2.7 billion CFA francs, said Nestlé Cameroon’s managing director, Thomas Caso, 12 direct jobs have been created, and the unit has a potential to create 48 additional jobs, in the next few years.

 

According to MINMIDT, which has welcomed this investment in agribusiness, “the first shrine of the industrialization Master Plan”, the establishment of the new Nestlé Cameroon production unit has benefited from the advantages provided by the April 2013 law providing incentives for private investment in the country.
The new production unit, in which This investment will boost the production of Nido Forti Choco, a new product launched by the agribusiness company in Cameroon in January 2016, and is manufactured, we learned, to base of milk powder, cocoa and sugar.
“Having invested approximately 20 billion CFA francs in the country since 2010, Nestlé will continue to be a partner of choice alongside the State, to help it realize its ambition to make Cameroon an emerging country, by 2035, “said Thomas Caso.
